Kerry Turner has produced this fantastic 7 minute video for the School’s History Project TeachMeet. In it she reflects on the use of web applications and ICT tools in her History lessons this year.
Kerry happens to be a colleague at Nottingham High School – she’s a History Teacher as well as Head of ICT – and she’s doing a fantastic job promoting the use of new technologies in the classroom, and not just amongst the pupils!
Her examples are all History based but can be easily transferred to the MFL classroom, or indeed any other subject. The potential for cross curricular projects is also immense.
The video showcases applications being used in actual projects that she and her classes have undertaken this year. The applications being used in the video are listed below:
- Bubblr – from the PimPamPum suit of applications
- GoAnimate – also try its school friendly version Domo Animate
- Voicethread
- Xtranormal
- Prezi
- CrazyTalk 5 – this is the only application that requires purchasing, downloading and installing
I, for one, cannot wait to see her presentation at the Nottingham MFL Show and Tell this Saturday 10th July.
